KOSADATA - 67 Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) arrived on Saturday evening (22/7) in Busan, South Korea. The 67 workers are skilled welders who were contacted directly by Hyundai, a well-known business in South Korea.
This was stated by the Main Director of the Busan Indonesia Center (BIC) Asset, Prof. Kim Soo il as a party collaborating with the Indonesian government through the Ministry of Manpower (Kemenaker) and Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection Agency (BP2MI).
“Yesterday, the Government of Indonesia through BP2MI succeeded in sending a group of Indonesian Migrant Workers, the first welding specialist consisting of 67 people to leave for Hyundai Korea. This is a historic achievement because the numbers are quite large," said Prof. Kim to Kosadata.com, in Jakarta, Sunday (23/7/2023).
He claims that there are 210 talented PMIs who will work at Hyundai South Korea, including the 67 PMI people who departed in Batam. The 210 PMIs will process flights until mid-August 2023.
Prof. Kim also appreciated BP2MI's role and hard work in processing the departure of 67 PMIs since it was done after hours and threatened with being cancelled. Prof. Kim also expressed his gratitude to BP3MI Batam for engaging in supporting the departing process.
